Programming Standards: Rigid programming standards are enforced to ensure that programming staff adopt proven re-usable routines in their programs. Software recovery facilities are built into the software so that in the event of a hardware malfunction, data is not lost and the software user can simply continue processing after the interruption.

Standard Language: The main language used is an ANSI standard called PL/B, (Programming Language for Business). This is a very efficient, fast, and versatile language for business applications. It is a true cross platform language, and it can run on a range of operating platforms including Windows, Linux, Novell NetWare, and various flavours of Unix. Intech also uses other languages (e.g., Java, HTML, XML) as appropriate when providing integration with its web based software.

Software Stability: As all users share common packages they benefit from the improvements that are introduced on a regular basis. Intech is receptive to ideas from its customers for enhancements to the packages. A single source is maintained for each package so that new features can be incorporated easily, and quickly disseminated to all users. Source code is maintained in such a way that special customisation for a user can be carried out without disturbing the integrity of the package. The single source concept means that the software is much more stable and is consequently easier to operate and support.
